Blackpool Tower

A weekend in Blackpool and a small selection of snaps:
Main Photo: The Blackpool Tower - iconic Blackpool ! It opened to the public on 14 May 1894 and was at that time the tallest man made structure (518 ft) in the British Empire - inspired by the Eiffel Tower.

1.The Grand Theatre - designed by Victorian theatre architect Frank Matcham and opened in 1894
2. The North Pier -  built in the 1860s - the oldest and longest of Blackpool's three piers. 
3. Funny Girl's - Originally the Blackpool Odeon (Odeon's largest in the UK) the building was restored and is now a burlesque cabaret showbar -  the cast of the show comprise male dancers and drag performers. 
4. The Winter Gardens a complex that contains the Opera House and Pavilion theatres, the Empress Ballroom, the Olympia exhibition hall and the Arena function hall on the ground floor - with additional function rooms on the first floor including the Spanish Hall, Baronial Hall and Renaissance Hall.
