Music Again!

Decided to go to church this evening so we can go kayaking tomorrow.

And then down to the Adega. Zé Maria accosted us on the way there; he and some of the others sang some Cante - the first time we’ve heard it for about eighteen months, very moving.

Then folk started heading to the main square where the town band was putting on their first concert for eighteen months, again very moving. Just to see folk gathering again, albeit with masks and the director who'd organised it all unable to be there, isolating at home with Covid. But still...

The full moon coming up above the trees to the right. Perfect warm temperature. Kids with ice-creams. The town mayor on a bench behind us. Applause. Even a stag party, the groom with a flashing headdress. Togetherness. A night to be savoured.

(A phone photo, so I could show on the map.)

Gratefuls:
- unexpected joys
- seeing people together again after so long
- our s-i-l submitting his dissertation, such an achievement in this difficult year
