Erythronium

Today's the day ....................... to hang on in

It's been so cold today with a bitter wind and after waking up yesterday to a light dusting of snow - it really feels as if we have taken a step backwards from spring to winter. Just as well then that these erythroniums are paying no attention to the weather and are just getting on with taking over from the snowdrops, as they do every year.

They were given to me many years ago by a very good friend. They just seem to appear from nowhere pushing their way through the fallen leaves and brightening up the place no end.

So we just have to hang in there - and one of these days spring will be here to stay ..................
