Mixed Traction - Pt 2

Having realised yesterday on a walk that it was the 'Mixed Traction' weekend on the Poppy Line, I looked at the timetable last night and decided to pop up to the station first thing this morning for an hour. It's always nice to see the trains, but I'm always fascinated on the event weekends by the practicalities of running a train into Holt every 20 mins. They have to uncouple the engine from the carriages, move the points, take it down the other track, and get it to the other end of the carriages and couple it back up again - and (if a steam train) take on more water - all in 15 - 20  mins. I've added another collage as an extra.

Day 496 / Day 7 of Step 4 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
The new Health Secretary has messed up again and has had to apologise for tweeting that people should no longer 'cower from' the virus. Cowering is so far removed from taking sensible precautions it's ridiculous, and very insulting to the 153,070 people who've died with Covid recorded on their death certificate. 70% of adults have now had both jabs. It was reported that at Heathrow yesterday, there were two hour queues to show Covid-19 documentation to get airside. Problems were also reported at Stanstead. An extra 200 testing sites will be opened soon to help test critical workers. There was an astonishing 21% increase in deaths from alcoholic liver disease in the first year of the pandemic. The public accounts committee reports that the Govt Covid measures have cost £372bn so far and that Britain will be exposed to 'significant financial risks for decades to come.'
