This afternoon we went for a walk along the Montgomery Canal. We enjoyed watching the dragonflies patrolling up and down although they didn’t perch for a photo. There were plenty of butterflies too which were great to see.

The swan family had six cygnets as big as their parents and a moorhen family with at least seven tiny chicks.

I always love the trees along a farm boundary on this stretch of the canal. It’s fascinating how they have grown around metal rail of the fence.

It has gone very hot again so we were glad of the shade of the trees.
