Montbretia

Another scorcher! But a most relaxing day - early morning swim too many jellies, Himself had a kayak, chat with my brother, then we pootled around the community market, then on to the Heron Gallery for lunch, papers read in the afternoon, another swim too many jellies and humans and then the remains of the spanakopita down by the pond. The montbretia is out and looking wild in the hedgerows - a dazzling combination with the fuchsia, purple loosestrife and meadowsweet. Miranda I know technically it's not a wildflower but it is now so am putting it in for your challenge! We shall finish the day by listening to Bedtime with Barry on Radio Altrincham.

And it's Reek/Garland/Bilberry Sunday here - a traditional day to make pilgrimages to mountains and holy wells - the day people nip up Croagh Patrick. Two years ago  I nipped up Mt Brandon - an amazing experience.
