Sands of Dee

‘Oh Mary, go and call the cattle home… across the sands of Dee’.  Another Victorian poem about a dead girl… I thought of this at Traigh na Cillie or Black Beach where the cattle were soaking themselves hock deep in the sea.

The beach was relatively packed (20 cars rather than the usual 2 or 3) but the tide was out and I swam without a wetsuit this time and thoroughly relaxed into it. A morning spent in C’s gallery and the late afternoon at a favourite garden before a jolly evening.

This photo doesn’t seem to have downloaded properly- it seems a bit impressionistic but I wanted the cows..and Woody
