Carol's ramblings

Yesterday’s trip

So yesterday evening we took a trip to Kew Gardens. We live around 30-40 mins away but parking is always a problem so had used Just Park and booked a private parking space of a house on Kew Road. It worked really well, just a 5 min walk and we were at the entrance. Ticket included a free cocktail. :)

Decided to wait for the cocktail and visit the Spectacular of colour exhibition, very interesting looking at “Pure Structural Colour”. The globe at the top of my collage was on display, it was fascinating. :)

Then on to the Temperate House - refurbished in 2018. The Temperate House is a grade 1 listed showhouse, originally opened in 1862 is the largest surviving Victorian glasshouse in the world (628ft long). Some stunning plants and flowers. Whilst walking around, you could hear hypnotic soundscape composed by Jason Singh using biodata – the electrical impulses emitted by plants. There were a number of plants illuminated too. :)

Collected our cocktails and sat on a beach taking in the sights and sounds. Lovely evening :)

Today - lazy day today, catching up on the olympics, I’ve got a bit hooked on it :)

Back to work tomorrow - hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend :)
