Face-to-face

While I was peering into the thistles with this guy, a runner stopped to tell me about a local woman, Anne, who was recorded on a Zoom event for the Wharfedale Naturalists' Society, talking about the bugs she's found in lockdown.  I know the lady but not by name and enjoyed whiling away a couple of hours watching what she's discovered - she's incredibly knowledgeable.

I recognised a few that I'd found and a lot that I'd like to see and her walks are all local to me.  I also learned that a chrysalis in our garden that I hadn't identified appears to be a hoverfly larvae - it's now hatched.

I think I was face-to-face with a small skipper here.
