By the lake

This morning at work I had a close encounter with a hare. I was walking across the field and a hare suddenly jumped up and ran in front of me.

This evening B and I walked through the patch of old woodland and to the farm lake. In the photo you can see the monkey puzzle tree that marks the spot of the grave of my previous border collie called Bracken. It is not a very fast growing tree but seems healthy. There were lots of fish swimming in the lake and ducks and geese in plenty. Also some swallows came looking for insects to catch. Charlie had a good wallow in the lake as usual and Pierce seemed quite happy just to watch from the bank.
