Highland Cattle

From the Scottish Highlands and Outer Hebrides.
A hardy breed with a double coat able to withstand the harsh winters of that part
of the world. They can live up to 20 years and a bull can weigh 1,800 pounds.

It is believed they were brought to Britain from Europe by Neolithic farmers in the second
millenium B.C.
They have a docile temperament although they will defend their young vigourously. I was
happy to have the wire fence between us.

My extra shows an example of a very British tradition. That of Summer bedding plants in parks
and public places. This is in theseaside resort of Morecambe. You might even be able tosee Mrs. K.

We had gone there to have the wax deposits vacuumed from my ears.
Until a few years ago the local NHS health centre wouldhave syringed them. But in many places
they will no longer do this and you nowhave to go to a chain of opticians or as with us to an Earwax franchise.
It was vital tohave it done as I have an NHS hearing test tomorrow to see if I need a hearing aid upgrade.
