My Life in Pictures

Corryvreckan

I watched a BBC Alba Series on the Fife Costal Trail and one episode takes the viewer to Lower Largo where sculptor Alan Faulds resides and where he has  created interesting hand painted sculptures - as shot by fellow Blipper Jimbo2750 here - the programme and Jimbo's Blip provoked me to shoot one of the two sculptures I have by Alan Faulds. This one is entitled "Corryvreckan"
It is carved and painted - lime on burr elm base, about 750mm high.  It was exhibited at the Visual Arts Scotland Annual Exhibition in 1999. Of this series of sculptures Alan Faulds regarded this as one of the more successful. He says that the burr elm with its natural swirls suggested the whirlpool of the title.
