Holocaust Memorial

We explored the government district of Berlin today, the Reichstag and ultra modern government buildings around it, the Brandenburg Gate, a walk in the Tiergarten park and around Potsdamer Platz and a couple of museums. I met up with an old school friend who has lived in east Germany for years and it was fascinating to hear about the days before the Berlin Wall came down and reunification started. Most of the wall has been destroyed but afew sections still survive.

The most memorable and moving thing we saw today though was the Holocaust Memorial or Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe - more from Wikipedia.
