Bournville Carillon

I did the weekly food shopping in Stirchley this morning while G was at the hairdressers. We lived in this part of Birmingham before we moved to Lickey twelve years ago, and G remains loyal to her hairdresser.

Afterwards we stopped in Bournville so that I could blip the Carillon. When it was erected in 1906 this was still a semi-rural location. It is far from the countryside now, but still has the feel of a leafy suburb. The carillon is considered one of the finest in the UK, with its 48 bells under a domed copper cupola. It is owned and maintained by the Bournville Village Trust.
