Wairoa river

Took our time heading back homewards. Passed through some of the areas that we used to visit when we lived in the eastern suburbs of Auckland. The main shows the bridge over the Wairoa river at Clevedon. Named after the town of Clevedon in England the settlement was established in 1866 at the highest navigable point of the river. Ships were the only viable means of transport in those days and it would take four hours to sail to the city. In extras are a couple of the coast at Kawakawa Bay taken earlier in the journey. Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting.
