Lathyrus Odoratus

Southern Hawker

I walked my woodland butterfly transect this morning in a very stiff breeze. No sign of the Large Tortoiseshell but there were lots of dragonflies: emperor, migrant hawker, brown hawker, southern hawker, ruddy darter, common darter. I also saw a Red Kite circling over the site. Red Kites have been gradually moving this was along the South Downs. This was the first one I've seen in East Sussex.
