Desperately seeking

Life Is Just A Bowl Of Cherries ...

... don't take it serious, it's mysterious. So said Bob Fosse.

Well, I've had mixed emotions over the past months. Joy, excitement, frustration, annoyance, despair, fright. It started with necessary repairs to the roof, then cosmetic work of having the house painted, then good recommendations of having the garage roof renewed.

All this before clearing our 35 year-old shed and ordering a nice new one. This bit of the work has been hard, the mental work of deciding what to do with stuff and the physical work of demolishing it and clearing the space. The work of building the new one still lies ahead.

One thing I did not expect to come across this morning was water dripping into the garage with the ceiling wet in several places. We had the first real rainfall last night since the fiberglass roof was installed. The roofing firm got a very early message from me! The previous roof might have been old, but it didn't leak. They will look at it next week.

Another run to the tip today, then, in the evening another jog from the tip back to the village. A cold evening, I was dressed for a summer evening. This evening didn't feel like summer.

So where's the ice cream to go with the cherries? Deep in the garage? Drat! The tub of cream was open in the fridge and I've just knocked it over! I know, no use crying over spilt milk!
