Horsetail

According to Mrs Oons, horsetail is the oldest plant in the world, in fact in the known galaxy, even the unknown galaxy for all we know. Which makes it rather wonderful.

On the other hand, looking it up reveals it's an absolute terror to get rid of once it's established. So it's reduced to rather wonderful provided it's not in your own garden.

This one's in a road verge, and may it stay there.
