Today we made our final visit to Molly's house in Spalding, to clear the last of the things from the garden shed, read the meters and leave the keys inside the house, ready for completion tomorrow.

It was a bittersweet sort of feeling - relief that we won't have to to keep going backwards and forwards, but sadness that we'll never visit her house and garden again. After being in the same family for well over a hundred years, it will now be let out to a variety of tenants, like most of the other houses in the immediate area.

Molly loved her garden and derived great joy from it. She was lucky that her partner was able to keep it ticking over until last year. It's been sadly neglected since her death, but even now there's plenty of interest and colour. I rather like the wilder feel - but I know Molly would have hated it!
