Auk Update

We're getting to the end of the auk season on Shetland.

The puffins are gathering ready to head to sea (I'm pretty sure most of the pufflings have already gone).

The tysties (the black guillemots - see the extra) are still bringing in food for their chicks.

The razorbills have gone. And if you'd asked me yesterday I'd have said that then guillemots had all gone too - but I did see a wee group of 5 adult guillemots on a remote ledge today with a single jumpling (a young guillemot) in tow.

No apologies for posting yet another puffin picture from Sumburgh Head.
