SILLY SATURDAY - A REALLY USEFUL GIFT

Hello Lovely Blippers,

We had hoped to go out with Mrs. HCB this morning, but come on, 6 o’clock is too early even for us - and it was even too early for Mr. HCB this morning - so we all just snuggled down in our beds and enjoyed a few more minutes sleep while off she went, with her earphones in her ears, singing away.  We don’t know what the neighbours must think, but no doubt they are used to her quirky ways by now!

When Mr. & Mrs. HCB’s friend, Heidi, came yesterday, she brought a really useful gift for Mrs. HCB and from where we were sitting, we could hear great hilarity.  Apparently, Heidi told Mrs. HCB to close her eyes and then gave her a small package - she wasn’t allowed to open her eyes so she had to undo the package and feel what was inside.

We watched with interest, because we love a good guessing game, but we were laughing because Mrs. HCB put these things on her head, on her hands and even in unmentionable places trying to guess what the two things were!

We thought Mrs. HCB looked really silly and fortunately, Heidi took some photographs, which she sent to Mrs. HCB, who has made into a collage and put them in as an extra, so you can see how silly Mrs. HCB looked.

Heidi said she had bought these “Mop Slippers” because she heard Mrs. HCB say when she was here before, that because of her creaky knees, Mrs. HCB found it hard to get down to clean her kitchen floor - Heidi is such a kind lady - but we noticed she didn’t offer to help with the cleaning, so we decided to do it. Mind you it was quite difficult getting into the right position.  Hoggy said that he didn’t need any mop slippers, he would just roll over and over and that would get any mucky bits off the floor, not that we are suggesting that the HCBs kitchen floor is mucky!

You might be wondering what the knight is standing at the back with his shield and sword - well, over 40 years ago, when Mr. & Mrs. HCB lived in a different house, their next door neighbour called John, who was Italian, loved to make things and was always out in his shed banging and welding and making lots of interesting things.  He made this cast iron knight as a door stop and it certainly does the trick because it’s very heavy and the HCBs are very glad to have it because John died several years ago, so it brings back good memories of John and Maria, his wife, who is still alive and is over 90 years old now.

So that’s our Saturday morning job - done and dusted.  We hope the collage has made you smile and we know that Admirer would be giggling to think of us cleaning the floor in our mop slippers.

Take care - have a great weekend and stay safe.

Love from

JH Ted, Tiny, Snowy, Penny Penguin and Hoggy xxxxx

P.S.  Mrs. HCB asked us to remind you that you can still sponsor her for her 100 Abstracts which she did to raise awareness of the Mamie Martin Fund.
