Heavy 60x40

After a rather quiet day at home, Daan saw an advert on Facebook of gravel tiles. He wants them for his allotment. The advert came from an uncle of mine, so the deal was made quickly.
Over 50 pieces of heavy gravel tiles (60x40x6) were waiting for Daan in Annerveenschekanaal.
I know Daan a bit and I knew he wanted them right away. So, around 19.00 we picked up my little trailer, stalled at my office in Appingedam, and set course to Annerveenschekanaal. 35 km away.

The first half of about 25 pieces were piled up already on the driveway. The other half were still on the ground as a terrace.

We loaded them in and came to the conclusion that my trailer could hold only 20 pieces (weighing about 25kg each). Two more in the trunk of my car and then we slowly went back the 35 km to Delfzijl. 80km/h max.

We safely arrived at Daan's allotment. Just when we were ready to unload, we had a huge downpoor. We took shelter in the little green house and 15 minutes later we unloaded the heavy bricks. It seemed as if they were getting heavier the more we unloaded.
Around 21.00 hours all was finished. A quick snapshot of the allotment and the new tiles, under a beautiful sunlit sky and todays blip was sorted as well.

We have to make this tour again in the near future to get the rest of the tiles as well. Maybe twice even.

The piled up tiles on the photo look so small.....that's frustrating knowing how heavy they are.
