Grayson Perry Art Club

Well, it felt great today to be back at Manchester Art Gallery.
The exhibition features lock down artworks by members of the public, initiated by Grayson Perry’s tv programme, Art Club.
Here, unknown artists sit comfortably alongside famous names such as Antony Gormley, Martin Parr and Grayson and Phillipa Perry. Along with a few celebrity names for good measure, Harry Hill, Noel Fielding and Joe Lycett (aka Hugo Boss), to name a few.
My picture shows creations by a young man with Autism, Alex Robinson.
During lockdown, loss of his regular routine could have been devastating to his mental health. Instead, his days became focused on designing and creating all these fantasy Fimo figures. A video of the curation of the exhibition, featuring short interviews with the many subscribers, made me feel really emotional and so pleased to be here.
