Greenhow and the Green-veined White

A sprint finish is the ultimate finale of any butterfly race. Yes, it’s great to see a solo breakaway reach the finish line, but there’s nothing more sensational (or with more potential for casualties) than a sprint finish.  She didn't come out unscathed. Jostling for position in the last 100cm, the tightly knit pack took no prisoners.  Greta, in her final push for the Rosebay Willowherb and in an attempt to avoid  a collision with a  passing honey bee, suffered slight damage to her wing.

Thankfully, my ride was far less exciting but equally beautiful.
