Rutland Water

A lovely day out today. I drove to Wakerley and Barrowden as Chris wanted to explore the area. Her mum was evacuated to the area from the East end in the war. We walked round the church yards looking for the surname of the family she thinks her mum was billeted with. We found only one reference to the surname of the family Chris's aunty was billeted with nothing for her mum. A lovely pair of villages.
We went onto Rutland water. We didn't stay at the nature reserve but drove on to the water sports bit after lunch at Barnsdale Garden. It was great watching the children jumping into the water, canoeing and having fun. We had a short walk and I loved seeing these wild carrot amongst other wild flowers. We were out all day so I'm tired now.
