One daze at a time...

Giving it some welly

Finally, after a little over a month of really really hard work and dedication (rehearsals from 10.30am to 5pm fives day a week), we finally got to see this year's play by the Dublin Youth Theatre group.
It was very funny.
We were well impressed. It was great to see the process from beginning to end. It has kept Luca fully focused on a worthwhile collective project for the whole month of July. The programme put together by DYT was extremely thorough and covered all aspects of putting a play together. I was a little worried about the outdoors aspect due to Covid restrictions but that slightly darker corner of Belgrave square in Rathmines lent itself really well to an outdoor performance. In the circumstance, they achieved the best they could possibly hope to.
I was particularly impressed by the work of the Movement Director. There was a lot going on on stage and it was perfectly coordinated for maximum comedic effect.
It can be a mortifying experience to watch a farce that isn't funny. No such worry here as you all pulled it off like pros.

Massive congratulations Luca and gang, you can be proud of yourselves!
