First Harley of the year

Harlequin ladybirds are a large and invasive species of ladybird which arrived in Britain in the summer of 2004. Since then they have spread rapidly threatening the 46 mostly smaller native species of British ladybird.
We always have a lot in our garden alongside 7 spot, 2 spot and cream spot ladybirds, and whilst they are a potential pest, they do a grand job keeping down the population of greenfly on our roses
