Munga

A few years younger than me but in far better shape! The Munga was built between 1956 and 1968 by "DKW" part of "Auto-Union" in Ingolstadt and stands for "Mehrzweck UNiversal Geländewagen mit Allradantrieb", which translates as "multi-purpose universal off-road car with all-wheel drive.

DKW was one of four vehicle/motor manufacturers based around Chemnitz in the East of Germany which merged in 1932 to form Auto-Union & went on to be very famous for their Silver Arrow Grand Prix cars that dominated racing until WWII started.

After WWII, Auto-Union with its symbol of four rings to reflect the four original countries, fled the Russians and started operations in Ingolstadt  and was later to become Audi/VW.

This one was parked at someone's house in the village. I haven't seen it before or since, so assume a visitor.
