Kayaking The Wye

Year 2 Day 131 of UK COVID-19 Pandemic.  First UK Vaccine 237 days ago.  England 14th day open.  Overseas travel restrictions.

The day brightened up midday and we decided to use our inflatable two person Kayak on the River Wye, starting at Lower Lydbrook, Gloucestershire (a few minutes drive from our house) and finishing downstream at Symonds Yat (Herefordshire). We left Mrs BB car at the end as our means of getting home!

As it's the school holidays, and an Area of Outstanding National Beauty it's a tourist hotspot and the river was busy, mostly with people who'd hired canoes. It was still a highly enjoyable two and a half hours, and we will do it again soon. The blipfoto shows us approaching Hunstham Bridge in our home village of Goodrich where swans and ducks were blocking our way!

Getting home we enjoyed a cuppa on our rear deck whislt the kayak dried off before the battle to get it back in its bag!
