Waders

These aren't the kind of waders you use to go beyond welly-level. The one in front is an oystercatcher (Haematopus ostralegus)- another name was 'seapie'. The others are bar-tailed godwits (Limosa lapponica).
I remember reading that 'godwit' came from Old English meaning 'good wight' or good man- wight as in the Isle of Wight, but I just looked online and don't see that root.
