Another brick not in the wall.

Along the foreshore there are thousands of bricks. They all come from far and wide but this one is local. The Dougal works in Winchburgh (1870s to 1970s) was only a few miles away  next to the canal for ease of shipment by barge, and they did operate a works in Bo'ness as well so this brick has probably travelled less than a mile for however long it has been released to the wild. The clay from the Winchburgh works were made from a local blue clay. which suggests this is a Bo'ness brick.

There was a huge brickworks to the West of Linlithgow, the link is a shot from within the main (abandoned) kiln, which could fire tens of thousands of bricks at a time.
