Pairs Competition

This is not the best picture, but Team Rufous made a rare appearance at the hummingbird feeder today. They seemed far more interested in chasing each other madly around the venue than in competing, but one never knows with these tiny birds. We'll see if they return tomorrow for the pairs hovering contest....

There was plenty of action inside as the house fly hoard evaded the fly swatter. They have an uncanny ability to look like they have taken the ultimate hit when they suddenly come to and fly off. In concert with the swatting event is the SHUT THE DOOR event. The hoard has reached the maximum number allowed by the Alternate Games committee whose pronouncements have little effect. A larger outdoor venue is being sought.

The humans have decided after much deliberation to make some changes in the bathrooms. Particularly the disastrous pebble wall installation in the shower which we had hoped we would learn to love, but instead hate more with each passing day. This necessitated a trip to the tile store this morning which has rendered me practically brain dead. Thank goodness we went to a place with a small showroom. Too many choices always does in my head. We took Dana along to prevent us from making another horrible  mistake. Paint color would have been a whole lot easier to fix....
