Joan Eardley at Mod One

The BBC forecast was rain for this afternoon so we thought it would be a good time to see Joan Eardley's Catterline exhibition at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (Mod One).   The forecast being completely wrong (again) we set off with our sunnies and bunnets!

It's a small well curated exhibition to mark 100 years since the birth of Joan Eardley.   The focus is on her 'Catterline' period where she worked from the early 1950s through to her death in 1963.   It was fantastic to see included three of her most iconic paintings,  Catterline in Winter, Summer Fields and Snow.  She was a wonderful artist who captured the beauty and fierceness of this part of Scotland in her sea and landscapes.
