Save Our Lollipop Lady

At the weekend it became known that the lollipop lady at Oliver's school was leaving for another job, the council had decided that they would not be replacing her.

David Cameron's Big Society swung into action and the people of the villages in the area were mobilised to demonstrate people power.

Within the space of a couple of days the county council and Member of Parliament have been written to, local media were contacted, parents mobilised, banners made and a protest was made outside the school this morning with the Oxford Mail, Jack FM and BBC Oxford TV were there to see the parents and children make known their feelings about the potential withdrawal of the service.
