Near high tide time at Munlochy Bay this evening. A few weeks yet before this field will be harvested, and then it will be easier to access the bay. Plenty of birdlife down there, and a wee list of some heard on recent calm evenings: Redshank; Greenshank; Oystercatcher; Curlew; Snipe; Whimbrel; Common Sandpiper; Heron; Greylag Goose; and more. Of those, the Curlew's call is my favourite.

The post that this kissing gate is hung on isn't very old, and either wasn't well preservative treated, or hasn't received any kind of treatment at all, as it's rotted through surprising quickly for such a thick post. Only the fence wires and Gorse bush are keeping it from falling over.

Escaped the forecast heavy and thundery showers, so far. More expected over the coming days.
