The Rocks Remain

Delfour Ring Cairn - this 3 metre high pillar of rock is the only survivor of a ring of massive monoliths which once formed an outer ring surrounding the outer kerbstones of a burial cairn. The kerbs stones can be seen in the background and in the extra.

The site dates from the Neolithic and Bronze age periods and has suffered from the removal of many small stones for agricultural building as well as having served as a dump for field clearance stones.
