Mini Adventure day1.

All packed up and ready to go.

Roads relatively quiet and ETA Hawes 1.30. Smooth run through Pickering and onto Thirsk. Following the caravan route to bypass Sutton Bank we pass through some very picturesque villages and see in the distance The Whiite Horse of Kilburn.

So far we have trusted the Satnav …….. big mistake- she tells us to turn right but shortly afterwards we come upon a narrow bridge where we meet an oncoming vehicle where the driver gets out and tells us that no way will we get through with the caravan and we will have to go back. We check behind us and see there are about a dozen cars behind. There was no alternative other than unhitch the caravan. With the help of two lovely ladies from the car behind us we managed a 103 point turn (thank goodness for the motor mover) 45 minutes later we were back on the road.

Eventually settled down to a fish and chip supper and a couple of glasses of wine. Raining as I write this but hoping for better weather tomorrow (forecast says no!)
