Summer day in the archipelago

I worked early from morning to noon and then cycled to explore the island of Lamposaari, which can be reached by ferry. I have visited there twice in the winter when it is possible to walk there a few miles along an ice road across the lake.

There was once a rather large sawmill on the island, which burned down completely in an accident in 1967. Now there are only occasional pieces of ruins left. Main building and large storage areas were located around this beautiful bay.

In the extra section two more photos from other sides of that large island. The island has 81 permanent residents and about 60 leisure residents spend the summer there in their summer cottages. Very idyllic and beautiful place and only 12 kilometers from the city center.
