Turtle

It's Flower Friday so why a snap of a turtle? I saw this turtle about to cross the track on the way to capture a specimen of this year's crop of rocky mountain bee plant flowers (extra) before they go to seed . An aquatic species obviously suffering from the recent hot weather so I took him to water where I documented him (extras) before he swam away. I hope it wasn't a pet someone illegally released as his chance of survival is next to none. Possibly painted turtle Chrysemys picta .
