Otherworldly

Current reading: George R R Martin's A Song Of Ice & Fire, which has been adapted bit by bit for screen over the last few years as the television series Game Of Thrones, starring Sean Bean in the same role that Sean Bean has played since around 1995 (gruff man who has a sword and kills people). Though I haven't seen any of the TV adaptation, I've heard good things, and as usual am eager to read the printed version before seeing the shiny teleplay.

Seventy pages in, and we're knee-deep in knights, wolves and ghosts. And so far, he hasn't done a Tolkien and based the entire mythical world on Birmingham (though I suspect there might be a bull ring hiding away in there somewhere).
