Arrival in England

I woke up quite early, having forgotten about the hour change, so had a shower and went in search of croissants and coffee. There was an announcement on the Pride of Rotterdam that it was only 6am! I picked up the duty free we had purchased the day before, and headed back to the room. Such a completely blue sky on arrival in Hull, fabulous view. We got off the ship, through customs without a hitch and on the road to York.
We stopped in York for breakfast, just in front of the Minster, it really looks fantastic. The journey through the Dales was gorgeous, and my son loved driving on those roads, even if it was on the wrong side of the road! We were in Bolton-le-Sands by 12.45, just in time to meet some of the family for lunch at the Royal. Lovely catch up, then we headed to Jackdaw quarry, now the Capenwray Diving Centre for a swim in the lovely clear 22 deg C water.
After we had a lovely dinner cooked by my brother, sat outside no wind and warm. To finish off, we sat in the spa pool, watching the sun go down over Morecambe Bay, framed by the Lakeland Fells.
