Hawdon Valley

Many years ago when I was a small child, I used to travel to Greymouth from Christchurch on a railcar that left ChCh at 2.00am and arrived in Greymouth about 7am. It was very exciting for me especially when the railcar used to stop in the dark in the middle of nowhere and people would get on and off the train. Little did I know many, many years later this would be a favourite place for me to go on photography trips. The stop was the Mt White bridge- for trampers and also a High School hut there was a popular destination. This bridge is just out of sight to the right of the railway line.
A lot of roadworks on this stretch of road today between lake Brunner and Christchurch.
