The pond bed .....

.... is coming into its late summer colours.  At the front in this photo, Galtonia (Ornithogalum) candicans, aka summer hyacynth, and beside it, one flower on the Tulbaghia.  Behind are several varieties of agapanthus which are just opening.  And there are also a couple of varieties of crocosmia.  All these plants are native to South Africa.

Around the bed are several varieties of salvia, and right at the back is a white Phlox paniculata.  The two odd shaped trees are two varieties of pseudopanax - both seem to have thriven on the rather damp summer weather this year - perhaps reminiscent of their native New Zealand, and have grown quite considerably.
