Poking through

I loved the way this bud that's just starting to open was poking through the petals of the flower above it.
We finally had some rain! The drops are barely visible on the flower petals because I wanted to focus on the bud. What a relief, though. I wish the interior of the province would get a few days of heavy rain to bring the wildfires under control. Another small town has been destroyed, and the nearly 40,000 people living in Vernon are under evacuation alert. So scary! Also so scary how many places around the world have out-of-control wildfires. Seems we have to learn about climate change the hard way.  :-(
