Big feet

Sunday morning walk to Kilmardinny Loch while the weather was dry. The rain started just after lunch and looks set to continue till this evening.
There were few photo opportunities so ended up with a Moorhen. I was struck by how big it’s feet are! They have big flat feet, not webbed, with long toes which are ideal for moving about in the shallows looking for food. The claws look very long and sharp and can apparently be used in an aggressive way against any other animal who strays into their territory!
