Surf's Up

Today was the annual surfing competition down on the beach. It was very windy and the sea was rather rough. I manged to get a few decent shots, and considerably more less usable. It's quite tricky holding a camera steady in high wind with water up to your knees.
It's great fun to watch, and there are separate contests for all age groups. Each group is given around 20 minutes to go out and demonstrate their skills before the judges. At the end a (very) loud klaxon is sounded and a big flag waved to indicate their time is up.
