Snapshots of my world

Hartside Pass!

Today's route took me from Threlkeld over to Alston where I'm spending the night. The rain fell, and fell, and fell...but then for the final half hour of my cycle... it stopped!

Part of the route today was the Hartside Pass which climbs to a height of 1903 feet and offers magnificent views across the Solway Firth and to Scotland. You can also see Helvellyn, Great Gable and other such mountains on a clear day. I was so fortunate that the cloud lifted whilst I was at the top, really very lucky. As I was descending the black clouds really came in and shrouded the top.

I'm going to enjoy watching the final day of the Olympics tonight, I can't believe how fast the games have gone!
