Dresden Plate

Wow did it rain this morning! Must have had an inch in half an hour and the drains just couldn’t cope. Nothing damaged though, perhaps the gutters need checking!
Good weather for staying in and working on the patchwork. This square is the centrepiece and the design is called Dresden Plate. It refers to a Victorian ceramic from Germany. It was fun to make as each blade is stitched at the top then turned right side out to give the pointed top.
The central discs were made using a Philippa Naylor special technique to give perfect edges and I’m very pleased with them too!
I still have some squares to make from several months ago when I must have been busy in the garden!but it’s coming together.
