Battery Man

I went through to Dubai for some meetings, and collected my passport, new visa and Emirates ID. I even had time to look at some cars to buy.

On the way back, I passed through the Abu Dhabi border checkpoint which now has the look of a permanent structure, and then stopped at the first service station to fill the car up. In the UAE you don’t switch off the engine as it is too hot. I parked up to go into the shop and came out to a dead battery. Due to the extreme temperatures here batteries only last around two years.

Surprisingly the service station didn’t sell batteries, but I bought jump leads and ice cream while I waited for Dial-a-battery and the battmobile to arrive.
