Flotsam or jetsam?

Interesting find on the beach today...can you guess what it is yet ? (thank you Rolf!)

We found it on the beach, among the rocks and brought it home to identify it.
We succeeded, and to see what it really is CLICK here.
It is the remains of a Meteomodem which we think is a GPS device which is attached to a small balloon and is then used to measure wind speed and I guess, direction by transmitting it's precise loctaion back to the operator continuously during flight.
I'm sure they can be re-used but this one has been smashed by rocks and was full of water so, I doubt it is re-usable.
